A major part of the Centennial program is the grants we will be giving out to promising individuals and organizations throughout the globe that have potentially world-changing ideas. Some of these grantees will win Innovation Awards at our annual ceremony, and others will come from our challenge grant process. Below are some of their stories. Sir Ronald Cohen - Chairman, The Portland Trust and Big Society Capital

Carl Ganter - Co-Founder and Director, Circle of Blue

Carl Ganter, Co-Founder and Director of Circle of Blue, received an Innovation Award for his, and the organization's, dynamic work. As a result of this award, Circle of Blue is receiving a Centennial grant in support of its mission to provide relevant, reliable, and actionable on-the-ground information about the world's water resource crisis. read more

Design for Change

We are happy to give Kiran Bir Sethi and Design for Change a 2012 Innovation Award. The ensuing grant will support their mission to inspire social action through simple design solutions developed by children from across the globe as they express and put into action their own ideas for a better world. read more

Dr. Sania Nishtar—President, Heartfile

As an Innovation Award winner, we are happy to give Dr. Sania Nishtar's organization, Heartfile, a grant in general support of its mission to develop innovations in the health sector, contribute to knowledge in the areas of health policy and public health planning, and catalyze change within health systems and broader systems of governance. read more

Jane Weru—Director, Muungano Wa Wanavijiji Akiba Mashinani Registered Trustees

Jane Weru, Director of the Muungano Wa Wanavijiji Akiba Mashinani Registered Trustees, won an Innovation Award. As a result, her organization is receiving a Centennial grant in general support of its mission to provide access to sustainable and affordable shelter, infrastructure, and innovative financial and technical housing solutions to urban and rural poor populations in Kenya through community-led processes. read more
