Activities

Our centennial initiative is aimed at uncovering and addressing the challenges facing the world's poor and vulnerable people for the next 100 years. To do this, we are holding convenings throughout the world and engaging participants in producing strong ideas that create global impact. We are publishing a series of books that draw on our past to provide lessons for the future. We are engaging online in a network of innovative thinkers that will help us find new voices to lead on some of humanity’s most challenging problems. Most importantly, we will be making a series of grants as part of our Centennial in order to pursue the promising ideas that emerge from all of these activities even further.

Convenings

We are holding convenings on critical global issues. We believe that engaging participants from a variety of sectors and with differing points of view will result in more innovative new ideas for us to pursue through grant-making.

Centennial Grantees

We are putting grants towards promising ideas that emerge from our convenings, and we are working with some of the world’s most innovative change agents to make their ideas a reality.

Publications

We are publishing a series of six books over the course of our Centennial, each one organized around an essential and abiding challenge in philanthropy. Each publication offered readers insights into the extraordinary stories that have been at the heart of the Foundation’s work for 100 years.

Digital Engagement

One of the core activities of the Centennial program is engaging online with a global community of innovative thinkers from a variety of sectors in a way that allows us to work collaboratively to address some of humanity's most pressing issues.
